BIPV systems are the integration of photovoltaic (solar) panels into a building or structure constituting part of the building envelope. The solar panels serve a dual purpose as a weather-tight skin and an energy source. Prospiant can provide designs and specifications for canopies, entrance vestibules, walkway covers, atriums, pool enclosures, or any other custom application that will yield an aesthetic, weather-tight building system which harnesses the sun’s power.
Prospiant’ BIPV panel systems help reduce utility costs as well as provide for a more ‘green’ and environmentally friendly structure. Prospiant BIPV Systems often utilize a semi-transparent type of solar panel that consists of photovoltaic cells enclosed by two sheets of glass. This facilitates solar panels for overhead glazing systems.
